Tamra Thacker: Writer (Foundations, Family Moments, Fast Family Time)

I was born the 5th of 8 children to Mel and Janell in St. Charles, Missouri. I spent my childhood playing sports, succeeding academically, and pretty much ignoring all the good advice and teachings my mother tried to give me. I graduated high school and attended Brigham Young University where I met and then married Rob Thacker in 2000.
I knew how to do laundry without regard to colors, and how to boil water, but that was about it in terms of domestic chores. I have learned, with many, many apologies to my wonderful and accomplished mother, how to do everything else (and there’s a lot else) since I’ve been married. I am the stay-at-home mother of 3 children—Miciah, 7 years old; Elijah, 5 years old; and Tank, 2 years old—who keep me on my toes and teach me lessons of love, patience, and fun.
I am passionate about family values in the sense that I know the value of family, and I think families ought to be celebrated! I am happy to be a positive, down-to-earth, simple voice sharing my struggles, successes, and stories about family.
Darla Cabe: Writer (Frugal Family, Fantastic Food, Clever Homes and Gardens)

I am Darla Cabe. I am 43 years old, have 6 children, ages 12 - 21 and am a stay-at-home mom. I also substitute teach at the local elementary school. I volunteer a lot in my kids schools and in the community. I have a small craft business, with 1 huge show a year, which is how Chiara found me!
I grew up in Cincinnati, OH. went to BYU, married Del (who is from Washington state), graduated with a degree in Elem. Ed., gave birth to child #1 and luckily returned to Ohio to live. We live in Sidney, OH, a small town just about an hour north of Dayton. I love it.
Several of my volunteering projects are the design and sewing of the flags for our high school marching band, I do the costume design and sewing for our high school's musicals (I LOVE doing this!) and I volunteer regularly at the F.I.S.H. thrift shop and food pantry. I have also served on the Gateway Arts Council and participate in local community choir. I LOVE to sing!!!!!I am alos very involved in my church and currently teach adult Sunday School classes. I also like to plan parties and events and decorate things like houses, gyms, stages, etc with fantastic things that don't cost much.
My friends describe me as " very resourceful." I have a need to do something creative each day. In my life, I do lots of laundry, cleaning, shopping, taxi-ing, teaching, cooking and hopefully, reading. I have recently joined a book club that the library offers and I enjoy that very much. I have been having this feeling lately that I should spend time writing and was amazed when the opportunity came about to write for this publication.
Susan Baxter: Copy Editor

Susan Baxter currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she spends her days working as an Editor. In her past professional lives she has been a technical writer and has taught English and Composition at the high school and college levels. She completed a Master’s degree in English Literature and Writing at Utah State University in 2007.
Sometimes she misses academics and the university setting more than she thought she would, but she loves editing—for her day job AND for the Family Fun Finder. Her passions (outside of editing, of course!) include reading good literature, watching good sci-fi, enjoying good musical theater, and spending time with good friends.
April Vann: Business Manager

My name is April. I grew up in Rockford, Ohio with my parents and one younger sister. In 1995, I married my high school sweetheart, Eric and we moved to Celina. We have three children, Dilon 9, Montanna 5, and Derick 2. I have run a daycare from my home for almost 10 years and love it.
Before having my children, I worked as a medical assistant and also worked at our local landfill in the office. I did a little bit of everything from running the scale, Accounts Receivable, Human Resources and working with the EPA. I love being with my kids, but I have a longing to bring out the business side of me again.
That desire, along with my orginizational skills, led me to start a personal assistant buisness. That's how I met Melanie and Chiara, almost a year ago. Thankfully, they kept me in mind and now I am excited to be working with such wonderful people.
