 It started as kind of a joke. Kathy had always wanted to start her own business, and while camping with friends they stumbled on a vacant building. Her friend teased her that this was where she should open up shop. Somehow the idea stuck, and though it meant moving their family (4 show dogs and their new baby, Kevin) from Massachusetts to New Hampshire, Kathy and Brian Ahearn did, in fact, open their pet gift store, Four Your Paws Only, in that vacant building in 1994.

Four Your Paws Only started as a pet gift shop, catering to tourists who, like Kathy and Brian, liked to bring souvenirs home for their pets. It has evolved over their 15 years in business to much, much more. The store recently moved to a new, larger location, where pets are always welcome! In fact, their dogs Colby and Meadow come to work with them every day. The new location has allowed them to bring in new selections of novelty gifts for pets and pet lovers and a wider variety of dog, cat, exotic bird and small animal supplies, seasonal & travel needs items, and high quality pet foods. They also boast the largest selection and display of Lupine Pet Collars and Leads in the country.

Take a look around, and you’ll find all kinds of products for you and your pet; items such as cookies, grooming products, pet clothing and raincoats can turn a backyard dog into more of a family member and prove it’s ok to make a fuss over your pet. They’re also renowned for their pet treats. Their new location has a gourmet pet bakery, where four bakers (yes, four!!) make treats fresh, right there in the store! In fact, they hang a biscuit–flag outside to let customers know when fresh treats are about to come out of the oven! There’s always a variety of pet treats in the bakery case—for every holiday, every season, or any special occasion.
